convertire i file solidworks in file step

Good morning to all,

I have a problem in converting solidworks files into step. in practice my colleague and I have to send the axieme of a conveyor belt, to a customer, but the problem and that the step file weighs too much and we cannot send it.
Now I explain how I did to convert the solidworks file to step file, I saved the axieme into a part sw file, then I took the axieme turned into part and converted it to step file, using the save by name, from the sw options.
However as I explained before, the file is too heavy about 162 mb.
so I would like to know if there is someone who knows an alternative method that can save my tape made with sw, in a lighter step file.

It's normal because the step files are normal text files and they occupy a lot of space. If you zip before shipping, you'll see that the size will be reduced by 80-90%.

-a step file weighs more than the original solid.
-Save it in step203 weighs more than in step214-the file of assembly weighs less than a part file.

the main question is: why do you turn it into part?
the most obvious thing is to transform the axieme into step214. then zip it

a zipped file of 192mb leaves presuppose a part file of 500/600 mb, if not more

to create lighter steps there are no great possibilities.

I tried instead to turn it into steps directly from the axieme and it would weigh me less.
turning it into step 203 weighs me on the 33.5 mb, turning it into step 214 weighs me on the 25.5 mb.
But as I said before, turning the axieme into step, when I open it, I turn one of the stripes.

But why did you do that first? All the pieces one by one?? ? ?

No, he turned the axieme into a side file. but this greatly increases the weight of the file. the axieme uses the external side files and in case the repetitions of these that make the file light; saving in part all, but all, these references become internal elements of the file. Of course you weigh more.

Anyway, I'm gonna go back and say if you zip it, then you can send it without any problems. The simplest solution is also the most effective.
