copy a full set with pack and go

INVENTORMUSTDIE

Guest
Good morning, gentlemen.
I have tried nothing in every way, when I cover a set in a new folder (using pack and go) makes the copy of the .iam and .ipt, but when I open the copying the individual parts it goes to fish on the original folder, and not on that of the copy.
I was about to putt and weeks of work.. how can I do that? Thank you.

I had the same problem.
At first, before opening the new project, I moved the source folder to a new location maybe even making a backup. then opening the inventor axieme no longer finds the original files and links the copied ones.

now I discovered a much more comfortable system: I close all open files and under the tool tab, "ilogic project copy". It's much safer and it does a lot more. Try it. If you don't understand how you use it, contact me.
Hi.

@stefanobruno

Bye! the project file I never understood how it works, I did one only and I keep it in the main folder along with the folders of the various orders. So you say I should do a project file for every contractor? I don't understand a pipe. .
thanks for the answers

@bertu

hi! I made tools-> copy project ilogic-> opens the window divided into 4 with "file to copy", "assiemi", "parti", "file not of inventor".
on "assiemi" select my .iam file and I see that on the "parts" window automatically selects the parts connected to my .iam file(so far ok). I click on "advanced" opens the window "ilogic project copy settings" showing me the source folder and all the files I want to copy, I choose a destination folder. under the only tick is on "create new project".click on "start" opens the window "state copy project" telling me processing the file...(file name) in progress and you plant it so. It doesn't tell me anything else, it doesn't end the process. If I go to open the folder where I was copying the files I see that it recreated the hierarchy folders (which I love) and the file together .iam I wanted, but apart from that nothing else. No cool parts or files of any other kind. Where am I wrong?
thanks for the answers

for the project file there are various philosophies, I find myself well with a project file for each job.

about the "ilogic project copy" I don't understand where you're wrong!! I with 2014 and 2015 (before I didn't know the command) do exactly as you wrote, but the process does its job properly! mha!

you need to change the project from the main menu and refer to the project file of the pack and go folder

This is the mother of all the troubles.
you must have separate project files and you must be aware of how you separated them, otherwise what you reported at the beginning.
this allows you to have identical file names for different objects, even if I strongly disagree with it.

inventor must die, but if you know it well, if you can tame it, it can also continue to live.

Bye.

Good morning! thank you all for the answers. I'm starting to know a little more. ok I will try with a project file per commit.
and I managed to make the copy with ilogic but from the pc of a colleague (mah, murphy law).
Thanks again and wish you a good day! Hi.

Thanks for the advice, I didn't know the copy with ilogic. seems to work better than pack and go. (it takes little)
greetings

Excuse me, I'm repeating the question to everyone.
exists a way to save a part (or a set) by name and simultaneously save its *.idw?

I honestly don't understand the question.. .
as when you save a .idw and inventor asks whether to save the .ipt (or .iam) connected, but to the reverse?

If this is the case, I don't know methods to do it. . .

I have the file: pippo.ipt and the file pippo.idw
except by name pippo.ipt, in pluto.ipt
that I know there is no way (in inventor 2013) to create automatically pluto.idw.
with the basic date I used earlier this was happening.
possible that there is no hidden command or an app that allows to do this?

Hi.
there's the design assistant that does it: or you can save the table pippo.idw as pluto.idw and with management > replace reference model replace the links from the old ipt to the new one. It works well.
(I speak of inv 2014 but it seems that on 2013 there was already)

Hi.
using the copy of ilogic you can do it and it works very well. The only thing is that you can't radically change your name, but you can just put a suffix.
