good morning to all, I am a beginner of inventor 2012...and inventor in general...I have a problem...in a carpentry assembly I forgot a part of terminal closure of sheet metal, I added this part without holes now I would like to make so that the mating holes present on the existing flange on this sheet resting on the flange itself and must have the function of cap! thanks in advance for your interest.

If I have understood the question well, you must make the holes coincide so that flange and sheet coincide.

there is the function of adactivity. in practice project the holes centers on the flange and then create the hole with the usual procedure (says that the centers are the projected ones and the hole diameter choose you, saying even if it is passing hole, threaded etc.).

basically: open your set, change the part and then create a sketch on the surface you want to drill.
at that point select the command "project geometry" and project the series of holes.

so you created the sketch with the centers. then proceed normally with the hole command.

It is not my habit to argue in disucssions within the forum but I would like to point out that if I make this observation ("it would be necessary first to present itself") it is that the user in question as the first message asks a question.
As we are all here to collaborate and there are rules written in the forum, it seems to me, at least by education, that people first show up and then ask for help. and since this help is not denied to anyone I repeat that at least for education one must submit.

otherwise you may also use the pin command (if you just want to create holes) or bolted connection (if you want to directly insert the screw) using the existing holes as reference.
