create family guard-rail

If someone can help me I would like to know which can be the best way to start building a family that generates a guard-rail. the ideal would be of the type to rail, i.e. starting from the trace a polyline to the end get the guard-rail in planimetria. what is the most suitable family model for purpose? thanks for every suggestion.

on revit I do not know how to give you a hand, for what concerns everything else yes.
If for example you need a double or triple wave band model (where I can export it in step or iges) there are no problems.
as I could tell you how a support pole or a spacer is made.
There are many types of infinity, because the norm has changed radically, but I think you have a couple of standard models.

what was wrong with creating the family? ? what i would like to do is if i have a straight is fine, but if i have a curve like you can do it i curve "in the same way that the walls lie"

Hello guys give me a hand please I created this guard rail traversed the family and placed in the bulk folder.I have to insert it in a drawing but I can't scale it or change the guard rail!!!where did I wrong in creating the family?? give me a hand? ?

in my opinion, you should use a family of railings: the current will be the wave profile (continuous) and the mounts are the support poles.
in practice you have to create a family of profiles = wave, and a new family of stakes, such as mounts.
