create leveled region on a sloped plane

I would like to know if there is a way (besides that manual point by point) to create a leveled region of a topographic superifcie based on a tilted plane! or is it possible to select a set of points of a topographic surface and automatically assign their "z" height based on a tilted plane? all to create a tilted levelling of topographic surface automatically connected with the rest of the unvaried topographic surface.
