only the manufacturer exists in the machine directive. we Italians confuse the term with builder.
manufacturer: a natural or legal person who designs and/or produces a machine or a quasi-machine subject to this Directive, and is responsible for the conformity of the machine or quasi-machine with this Directive for the purpose of placing on the market with its name or brand name.
