Good morning.
I would like to have a graphical interface that is the same for multiple pcs;
by graphical interface I mean the layout of commands icons and menu bars!
is it possible to centralize this option?
I tried to cuff in the custom default....but nothing! !

software: nx5

hello and good morning,
Yes, you can centralize everything. search the roles (roles in English), create them and then set the environment variable ugii_default_role=... where you will put the mtx files so created.

my curiosity since you have not yet presented yourself in the forum:
Is it possible that a few years ago we worked together and in lunch breaks we went to the mediaset canteen?

First of all thank you for the answer...... .
Yes some have gone to the mediaset canteen in dove!! ! !
Maybe we worked together too!! !

 I do not remember if it is the same for nx5, but you have to do so:

- go to the pc with the correct configuration, and save a role user.
- go to the system folder where it is saved (c:\documents and settings\user\local settings\data applications\unigraphics solutions\nx5\roles) ... could be a path like this.
- copy the created .mtx file, on the other pcs where you want the same interface setting.

oppure, con un semplice programma vb.net:

:step 1
create your own interface
if pc is the first then
___ go buy a photo camera
___ take a photo
___ print the photo
end if
:step 2
take with you the printed photo
move your body to another pc
configure the new pc as before following photo
is this the last pc?
if last pc = yes then go take a coffee
else goto :step 2
if the user of this pc want a different gui then goto :step 1

I tried, but I'm looping the line:

if last pc = yes go take a coffee

Is that why I'm nervous?

I tried to replace the line with

if last pc = yes go smoke a cigarette

but it's even worse!! !

suggestions? :mixed:

exists this variable to be set in the nozzle_env.dat

# This variable defines the default role that nx will use at startup time.
# if directory path is omitted then the system will look for the specified file in the nx/open roles directories.
#ugii_default_role=pippo.mtx

or, if you work for departments, you can create a 'role' palette in the resource bar that contains more customizations.

Good morning.
I also have the problem of saving the role to share it with other office pcs.
I read the previous discussion but having installed nx9 I can not find the matches of the suggestions that were given.
I did a search on the pc disks to find the file "nx_role0.mtx" which is the name of the file that the program gave default to the new created role, but I do not find any correspondence. the only files I found with .mtx extension are in the following folder c:\program files\siemens\nx 9.0\ugi \menus\roles and are the default files of the program (advanced.mtx, cam_advanced.mtx etc.).
Can you help me?
Thank you.

the file can be found in c:\utenti\name\appdata\local\siemens (it is called user.mtx) cuts and pastes in the folder ......\ugi\menus and becomes a system menu.
