Hello, everyone!
I am alex weighing and I take care of mechanical design.
I am desperately looking for someone who knows how to use the custom properties that you access from the tools menu of solid edge, at least of version 20 I use! Despite using the solid edge for a few years I have never used them because I don't know them, but discovering the usefulness would not mind. I don't understand if they have anything to do with propseed or not.

Thank you!
Bye.

Hello Alex,
I think we have discussed it many times. It was enough to search!
Therefore I ask you before posting, to check whether the subject was previously dealt with.
thanks and welcome

hi gerod,
I agree with you on watching previous discussions, but on the linked tables of custom properties I have not found.
I try to explain better, I know how to create a custom property that fits me in the file-owned drop down menu with the propseed, indeed I use a lot to add data to the parts I create. what I was asking is how you use the properties that you access from the tool menu and that allows you to create property tables to connect to the geometry of the part.

I am sorry if there was a discussion about this.

Hello and good Sunday.

If you work with single parts and draft, in the draft with the property booster on the draft, put the calls on the table.

the most immediate example is, however, with axioms and tables:
in draft with 'list parts' and ballpoint you create a list of parts where you read, e.g.:
pos, description*, code*, quantity*, notes*, material*, etc*

I put an asterisk in those customized

Hi.
Sorry, guys, but I think we're talking about two different things. I will remain with doubt. Thank you.

I took a look at the help of if but it didn't say much. I saw however that the custom properties you say are related to model 3d. if you press table and enter data you can then connect them to the template files and then ask questions.

on the specific utility of this function I have no idea. Have you tried to hear your assistance? Hi.

Yes, I heard the assistance, but the answer sounds so much help of itself, so practically useless. The only thing they told me is that I could use it usefully to indicate work to be done on the faces since it is practically the only entity to which the command allows you to connect. I don't know! Maybe if I find out they can also serve the score otherwise it will remain in the archive of useless commands!

Hi.
I don't find this command so useful... then for the usefulness of indicating works to be carried out I prefer to insert pmi notes.

can be useful to store data on individual entities.

example: I want to automate the replacement of obsolete models with updated models.
normal replacement of solid edge would blow up relationships as models were created in very different ways.

Using the table, I could mark which faces of the piece should be used for the various reports. with a macro I could then replace the pieces and rebuild the relationships as I already know which faces to be used because marked as such through the property table.

this is just one of the possible uses.

Hi.
