save to all use occasional inventor 2009 and carry out checks on individual elements through the application of the cad. what I wanted to ask you is if you can customize the characteristics of the materials or you have to use only the selectable ones. to make you understand better the problem I tell you that I would like to make a simulation on a particular design, but from cad I can not choose the material with which it will be realized (aluminum 6063) as this is not present in the list of materials and therefore I wanted to know if there was the possibility to independently insert the characteristics of the material to be assigned to the particular before performing the simulation. an early thank you to all.

Hi jumpy,
sure that you can create custom materials and save in styxml format.

the material is possible to define it in its node when you do sress analysis or even in the modeling module. depends on what you need.

to add new materials for parts:
- from the format menu choose editor styles
- click on materials
- select new
- set the features and save
