cut out part of a cartography in autocad 2010

Good morning to all,
I would need a portion of a topographic card, so I would have to delimite the part that interests me with a line and eliminate everything else.How can I do?
I already imported the card on autocad.

- if the cartography is a DIY image as plannerroad said, if it is pdf use the cropapdf command.

- If, as from what I understand, it's made up of vector elements and you need to cut it out in a real and proper way by eliminating the part you don't need, you could try like this:

1-if you have to cut it in a rectangular way do as Massivonweizen said and go to the second point, if you have to cut it irregularly do as below
in the layout (or paper space) create a normal window, steps to 1:1 and wide the windows for you to see everything, then create another window, this time polygonal, around the portion of cartography that interests you (works like a polyline, when you close it from the sending).
delete the first rectangular window previously created, step the second window to 1:1 and with the pan move the paper space below to make it coincide with the portion you want to cut.

2-do this, lower left on the layout from the right-click on the layout where you did the job and from the "export the layout in the model" (the penultimate option), will ask you to save the new dwg, give the name you want, so doing you will have a dwg file with only the paper cut that you need obviously with its layers, you will just copy it in to the drawing you need.

the only two problems to which you have to be careful are:
- cartography will no longer be in scale
- cartography will no longer be georeferential
if you need these two import characteristics in the original cartography by pasting it as a block (dx plate, notes, glue as a block), scale it and rotate it according to the original cartography, eliminates the existing cartography and explodes the block or do what you have to do in short

At the moment I am not aware of a special command that cuts/eliminates all the elements external to a certain polyline, but in my opinion it would be very heavy for the pcs we have now.

Sorry, I was wrong, rereading you said to "cut the crop area."
the off option is for viewing, to delete it totally you have to use the "delete" option.
