Bye to all,
how can I convert to 3ds format?
I saw that there is okino polytrans, it works well?

If you attach a pro/e sample file here, we can do a comparative test with various converters. . .

:

I confess that with some emotion I opened, for the first time in my life, a file of his majesty pro-engineer: look here..

first I converted your cylinder into .stl, then I saved it in .3ds using the following tools:
  • the other of public domain but limited to 2^16 vertices, therefore to be discarded for professional use.
as your file was little significant, I made up on the net This is what mountain bike, converted with the first, impressive program that works 100% for a month.

:

and if you simply carry it out in *.obj from proe?
3ds read the obj format, without switching from 10 export and various shareware.

greetings

Thank you.

I didn't realize if the first program costs 20 or 100 Canadian dollars. . .

the second, with the limitation to 2^16 vertices, could also go well for what I should do (not very complex parts, hardly I would do assemblings).

That would be a solution. . .

I don't actually use 3ds, I have to create some items that will have to be put in the archicad library, which accepts *.3ds files.

to summarize, pro/e I need to model, then I should export to *.obj, open the *.obj with 3ds, save in *.3ds and import into archicad.. .

have you tried, in pro-e, to save as dxf, that is the standard format of vector interchange?

via dxf you will certainly lose the parameter, but at least the solids should remain such, unlike the .3ds that turns everything into surfaces.

for completeness, the free converter of my second test is ' This is, se non erro made in italy...

:)

I read it myself, dear fellow countryman

I also did a test by saving an obj with pro/e, but as the friend of the Cadaland says, it doesn't matter:frown:
Not even Vrls?
you should ask those of archicad that file recognizes in import.
