hello to all, I wanted to ask how the "trapass" was from sw to catia and if there are analogies regarding the surfaces.. .
thanks in advance marco

I'm sorry, but who are you asking?
Do you throw it in the ether or do you turn to someone in particular?
you refer to trap of the expensive stinto or semply ad a passage from software to another?
(actually it seems that swx is alive and well http://www.solidworks.it/)
If we talk about the differences between the two, well, put yourself comfortable, serve a good glass and prepare for a long story. . .

What do you mean by long story?

I have only looked at him but I have worked for years with v5 and now with solidworks.... I would say that with solidworks surfaces leaves much to be desired, a little limited... On the other hand it is great for other things perhaps better than catia, while with catching the surfaces you can do much better, you can do what you want (addittura in classe a)... as long as you buy the necessary licenses:biggrin: (talk for v5, v6 I don't know but I think it is similar).

I mean that the differences are many, in terms of functionality and power. with catechism of complex surfaces in a simple way (simple is related to complexity). the peculiarities would take a long time.
solidworks say they are great for the modeling of solids but, speaking of surfaces, it seems to be very backward compared to catia.

and anyway we are in the section catiav6A little out of place.
