I overwrite the default models of solidworks 2016, both part and together, in practice I modified the units in mm kg s and saved the models, now if I unload a step file from the internet and try to open them, solidworks answers me with this error messagenow if I click by meal, solid asks me which model to use or:clicking on the template together opens the filewhile if I click on ok solid opens me this filethat is the same file without a sub together.

how to avoid this?
I restored the default models of the parts and assemblies, but I wanted to customize them by changing the units of measurement, some details like the shady threads and other propreities that make me comfortable during the work.
how can I save two template files, for part and together customized, that don't make me mistakes like the one shown? ?

I restored the default files and created two more template files with the customizations I wanted. Now if I start a new part or together I can choose which model to use, while if I open a solid step file use the default files without asking for anything, maybe so it is set in the settings. as procedure could also go well, but if I can have only one custom template file I would prefer it.

In the end I took model files from another computer in uffico, I made a repair of the installation of solidworks, and then I created files with customizations but I did not overwrite them, I kept them both. I did some tests, then I deleted the original files from the folder leaving only the custom ones, and in the options I imposed to use only those. at this point everything seems to work regularly, opening step files does not appear to me that error message and the file is complete.
probably was a mistake due to incorrect installation.
