define the instruments

I normally use the item "assembly-components-define instruments" to bring me behind the holes; yesterday I tried to create a groove (wood) as a tool, but I can't take into account the parameter used for distance.
my company has decided to cut between the various costs also the update of ts, so I can not ask lumi to the competent missler technicians.
I have v6 10.256.
Can someone help me?

hi, even if you're out of service contract, you can still call the support that we will respond equally if it's once in a while.
prioritized missler to contract customers but never abandons even those outright.
However for your problem you can go to our site ftp.topsolid.it and by typing as a public username and giving access to a public area where going to topsolid-filmati-topsolidwood you will find several examples on how to use some commands among them you find the auto back video that shows you how to insert the grooves into libraries.

on my version of top solid there is no command that uses the video (the one that creates a solid using the other as reference).
Anyway...it seems to me that in the video you parameterize only the width of the cut, not the position or the depth.
I, without creating the solid (which I don't need in this case having to do the milling for inserting a sliding door guide), follow the same procedure to create the groove tool, but I use a parameter for the cutting distance. This parameter (which obviously as a guide parameter), is used correctly by ts for the insertion of the assembly (the two doors with the hardware), but is neglected when processing the part.
n.b. I do not have the cam, but I use dxf export for biesseworks

about the topic, it's exactly what I want to do and what I do, except that I do the fresata on a solid ghost, i.e. not included in the assembly, and at this point I guess that's why ts does not take into account the parameters.
doing as you did but the solid then I carry it back even in distinct base, right? I'd like to avoid it, but if you can't, I'll filter it somehow.
in any case it is a functional solution that I will certainly use in the morning.

p.s. I changed pc (an i7 with 8gb and win7), so I could install ts 64bit. I earned with the new pc more than 50% in speed, which is not bad.
I don't remember what you had to do to have wood commands in Italian (there was something to copy, or move to the local.ini I think)
