why is it united to the beams and not separated?

hi render 54, thanks to your “didactic” project that you posted you never end up learning. I now think I have well assimilated how to build a roof by inserting the beams using the system function of beams, duplicating the layer then I also insert the tiles that greatly enriches me the final renderingig.
At this point I must realize the executive table of the roof structure and I realize that the tiles and beams are part of the same family and therefore cannot filter individually and turn off what is not needed using the visibility/graphic substitution command (I would do so).
... but I always miss something.
the attached image was carried out without the use of the tiles.

unfortunately filters by category and not by name
I think you have to turn them off by selecting them individually
and use the plant of the countertops for which you see the beams from below and the tiles are obscured by the roof layer?
