Hey, everybody! First of all I would like to congratulate the forum, spectacular. However I would like to know if there are many differences between catia and autocad. I know that catia is great for creation of mechanical parts and since I am studying autocad, I would like to know if in the future I could find great difficulties going to use caia... thank you 1000 to all for the answer and good night!! :finger:

In my opinion you will have to start almost from scratch, the 2 cads in question have a completely different working logic.

autocad fields are magnificent, those of catch a little less.
Catia does fillet, autocad instead.. .

autocad and catia have practically nothing in common. Maybe it's too long to explain why.
consider among other things that autocad does not draw in 3d but only in 2d (and try to deny me!)

you forgot to magnify the carcad cartils and the precision of the tract-point lines.

You made me disproach. .

how does autocad not draw in 3d? What am I doing? Meatballs? ?

Hi.
to make you the idea of the difference between autocad and catia think of this comparison:

- autocad: a rough knight, loser, without armor, without weapons and on a somaro zoppo

- Catia: a super-figo knight (style men and women) with carbon fiber armor (already from the Middle Ages!!!), diamond sword and purebred horse (haled).

Sorry about the oct but today I took it particularly cheerful. ..thinking us however the comparison holds.

But. . .
"a very ugly knight, loser, without armor, without weapons and on a somaro zoppo"I give it to you. ..
mentre
"a super-figo knight (style men and women) with carbon fiber armor (already from the Middle Ages!!!), diamond sword and purebred horse (haled"It costs you an eye of your head... every time the armor is lined you have to bring it back to the top of the everest (pay you), the sword in diamond to keep it you have to pay every year maintenance. . .

In my opinion it is not possible to make a comparison as they are two different sw that assume different preparation, investment and use.

autocad is the best sw to start. few know how to fully use its 3d features (also very improved with the latest versions).
is undoubtedly the world std for design 2d.

catia is a very powerful surface modeler (premit that I am still on the version for unix 4 refresh 1.9) and especially suitable if you have to make complex surfaces such as, for example, car bodies.
You will never be able to exploit it thoroughly if not after a proper training period.

You won't do anything about your autocad knowledge if you want to use caia.
If catia is the target tup I would recommend rhinoceros that, in my opinion, is his poor competitor:redface:

I admit my ignorance on the subject but I think the two systems are not comparable. ..as if I asked between the bike and the suv what difference there is. considering the obvious differences anyone would be willing to choose the suv. sin that then you never find parking, in the ztl do not go, pollute like a coal factory, leave us a kidney at every full etc...

Of course, from this point of view you are right. I have just dwelt on the differences.

For the rest...quoton:biggrin:

I would say that with the cost difference of the two you can buy a porsche cayenne.

apart from the jokes I fully agree...for 90% of Italian companies catia is overmodo superfluous.

colleagues already have fully responded to you that between the 2 sw you cannot compare as they are 2 different worlds... by curiosity, are you a student of what? (university, itis, etc.)

I think you're confusing catia with the modeling package of catia surfaces.
catia does not serve to shape surfaces.
If you want to make that comparison, you have to compare it to alias.

Hi.
I am a technical aeronautical student and at school I am following a 2d course with cad.. only if the lessons proceed slowly and I would like to learn faster, for this I am learning alone.. Another problem is that I would like a future as a designer in the aeronautical field and I would like to get used to software used in that field.. so you will find an occupation immediately. . without doing too much courses also because I do not have the economic availability.. excuse the abbreviations and errors but his writing with cell... :

if you are in the aviation industry then the answer is obvious: catia

Yes, but the problem is, I don't know where I'll find work in the future... I have cad certification exams, so I don't know what to do... I think I'm going to study at school and then at home, I'm going to practice with cad...
