This is my opinion:
Did you take the design for changes?
Then it means that it serves... it's not in the end of production.
then I remake it with solidworks and relative table.
time is not wasted for two reasons.
the next time the piece undergoes changes, the table updates automatically.
second, you can use the 3d to design in the environment together.
then you see, you stay tied to the 2d.

then sincerely, the time you have devoted on this topic to write and stay waiting for a solution, you could dedicate it to remaking.
So as you see, you've wasted time with your choice.
