Hello, I am carrying out a project of a lifting winch, I am making the dimensioning of the winding drum I found the diameter of the rope and the diameter of the drum, how can I measure the length of the drum?

depends on the length of the rope: all wrapped will cover all the edges (for safety you will make a couple more). with the hook all lowered you will have a minimum number of coils wrapped to prevent the clamps to hold the load

the length of the rope depends on your geometry (distance between the lowest point of the hook and the highest point, plus the stretch up to the drum), considering also the lengths wrapped on the various pulleys and the numbers of pitches. then you must also consider the lengthening of the rope you chose when it goes in shooting (usually it remains within the uncertainty of the data, from which the 2-3 extra coils)
