dimensions with eurocodes

Good morning to all I am a new user and I am facing a problem to which I hope someone can give me delucidazioni .
I have always dimensioned with the eligible sigma method but given the new rules I wonder how the eurocodes work and if it is still possible to dimension with this method without the help of dedicated calculation programs.
Are there any texts which clearly explain the new method of calculation ?

I do not know directly of eurocodes nor of building structures, but I believe that the admissible tensions are still usable for structures without seismic evaluations; In addition, as regards the project of machines and structures not subject to loads of wind and snow, I do not know how appropriate Eurocodes are, there are special regulations.

simply you require to the unit the cd and you pay it... everything's written there. we say they didn't overwhelm life. have changed the coefficients, slightly the formulas, but the concepts in themselves have remained more or less equal. clearly the values are different, example between one cnr 10011 (saving and bolting) and eurocode 3 there are differences on the calculation values, but hardly a structure is verified only for one of the two processes. however it is good to do the work in accordance.

I have often happened in the hands of the codes (which could be either one or any other source) where unclear porcements are presented to follow with final formulas to be applied..........
As I still have university mentality, if they don't explain to me from what initial theory they started to get a certain formula, I tend not to trust.... .
the claim that a standard carries the theory followed to obtain the formula to be applied is impossible, but if one wanted to deepen what should he do?? ?
I mean, if I wanted to figure out where the standard a xxxx number comes out like I could do? ?

ask who wrote them. However the formulas are, they must be used and are valid by law. everything else is good theory but nothing "reliable by law". However, it is nothing wrong. compare the formulas, get them and you will see that we are always there nearby. that you are university as a mentality you should not fossilize on theory.:biggrin:
 
I am not fossilized on the theory and I like to deepen when I find something new...... but I have seen regulations that apply formulas with parameters that I don't understand or where they come from or how they come from..... I don't think it's for my ignorance but simplemtne because the starting point, the theories and the hypotheses from which you start are different from those on which I or many others have studied...... in this case, not trusting anyone, I would like to understand everything in detail and so I would need the material on which to study...
 
for bolted/welded links changes little from theory to uni cnr 10011 to eurocode 3. Basically you use different safety coefficients but the base is always the theory you have studied, slightly elaborated
