Bye to all,
I would like to insert into the table, automatically, the work directory.... .
I looked at the parameters and tried &file_open_default_folder
but it doesn't give me any results.

Is there any other parameter that stores the work directory?
Thank you.
bb

I also tried this &dispaly_full_object_path but nothing, I can only see to monitor the path, without being able to capture it......:confused:

try to change the path of your directory: you have to click on the software with the right button on property, and where you find in the "to" link section you have to enter the work directory path you need. I did this so it works. Hi

I'd like to ask you a question, please.
work directory.
with the wf5 I happen to have the work directory x set, of
be placed in a y directory, create a part
new and save it, but unexpectedly it is saved in y.
result is a real mess.

What do you say?

thanks in advance

hi, I don't understand what you mean by " x set work directory" and "placed in a y directory"
in which of the two directories is set the work one?, because the system will always use the one where to save the new files.

I'm sorry if I was wrong,
I try to explain better:
imposed the directory x as directory
work and I create parts together drawings and
saving them they end properly.
I open a part that stands in a directory
y that is not work to display some details
, I close it, and I create a new part, save it but not
saves it in x but in y.

I hope I've explained

Hi.

Sincerely, it's a situation that never happened to me.
check in the config if there is any option with *save" or *dir* that have set directories other than those of work.

thanks to all

I did some tests with option recommended by nicksoft and seems to work also in rescuea.webp

file_open_default_folder working_directory

allego immagine

therefore this option does not only concern the opening of files, but it allows to disable the concept of work directories....interesting as what....

the work directory is always active is not disabled, but this option
allows you to visit other directories without taking the risk of creating parts, and save them
in diectories other than work.

In my specific case and for my working method there is a useful approach

everything ok, but what I mean, is that the "name" of the option in question, speaks of "file_open", then file opening, not saving.

the job directory has the primary purpose both to be the direct directory for rescues, but also to be the privileged directory for file recovery from the file system when other files exist with the same name (typical in backup directories present in search_path).
I did not imagine however that this option, also had the function to disable the mandatory saving of the parts in the work directory.

this option concerns opening files, but should not affect where to save new files.
That's the setting.

in I create, if you start from the c:\job folder and then unfold another folder for example to go to recover a table, that cute girl stays in that folder until you do a next "select work area".

It follows that the new prt-asm-drw are saved in the table folder and not in c:\labor.

with that set-up resolves this annoying problem

I'd say good trick, because at that point the option is aleatory, in fact disabled the work directory in toto.
