discretize a curved solid and projections

friendly users,
I am looking with inventor 2014 get the following:
I designed a solid with a simple revolve, obtaining a curved surface. what I would like to do is to discuss this curve by obtaining a simplified with trapezi or triangoli mesh-like planes.
from this faceted surface I must then get solids with the measures for all these faces to realize a model for a project.

I tried to create sectional plans and for each projected sketch, but it seems rather long and imprecise as process.
Is there a faster way? How can I proceed? Thank you!

if you only need the "external faces" you can consider the command of the sheet module: do exactly what you need.. .

hi, I tried to do it as a sheet but using the command you say can only connect two sketches and set faceted folds, to make a hopper right. instead I should start from the creation of a solid corrugated curve and then simplify it to realize it faceted. I put you a link I found to make you understand, but it's done in rhino.
