dissect with rhinoceros

I'm at first with rhino and I should dissect the capital in photo to extrapolate the main face with a 45° cut. can you give me some indication for how to separate the model, I have already tried with mesh modification and subdivid mesch but do not separate it as I could do?

I tried on my file with the "southdivid mesh" command highlighted in the image.
I created a plan and used it to split up.
so...you could use whatever form you need for the division of the capital and probably get what you want.
