I ask you a question because a customer of my friend who uses inventor and his client uses pro/e told him that he would want the file coming from inventor readable with the model tree, he twisted the question to me because I use pro/e, I told him that it doesn't seem possible to me also because every cad has different functions and not compatible with other cad.
I utilise direct import with catpart or solidworks or ug but the feature model tree do not see it.

confirm, it is not possible to have the model tree legible after conversion. use all the formats you want, but you only get a non editable model.

These systems to automatically load a file with an extension do not create, serve only to work in teams, where some members of the team work, use other software (so they can work on the source file, and the user create does not have to replace the file at any change, with waste of time), but that I create can read the algorithms of other cads, is to be excluded.

I am in the reverse situation where I have to convert a pro-e file and make it digestible and also editable with inventor.
Does anyone know if there are special rescue options in pro-e and/or special filters in inventor that make this step possible?

no, there are no such settings, inventor I can open the classic step or iges files (parlando of common extensions that you also find in pro-e), certainly not .prt or .asm can also edit them as if they were inventor.

creo has inside a cocreated core of derivation, which allows the editing of imported maths not native, but is one of the few to be able to do it.
