Bye to all,
seeing in the forum some requests for clarification about the use of the usb (dongle) key on so to 64 bit I want to inform you about the status of the facts.
there are two types of nx licenses:
server e node_locked.They differ from the fact that the first is activated by the flexlm and can be called by the network with the system variable ugs_license_server=28000@nomehost (physically this license file contains a line in which server name yourhostid appears), the second is called directly (so without flexlm) with the variable ugs_license_server=c:\filedilicenza.
another distinction is that licences can be related to:
cid that manages both server licenses and node_locked licenses
works on all I know
dongle (key usb) that manages only node_locked licenses.
dongle only works on 32 bit so
there is another possibility and is that it allows to ask for a node_locked license file associated with the mac address.
this the answer of siemens:
"the stand alone (node locked) licenses can be generated on a dongle, or on a mac address.
a usb network adapter, or a usb bluetooth adapter, has a mac address".
Basically you can buy a usb network adapter (15-20 euros) verify its mac address, apply to siemens of a node locked license file associated with this address and at the same time return the dongle usb.
This network adapter works on any kind of so.
Good Easter to all!!! :finger:
