*.dwg file conversion to *.mi file

Good morning.
Can someone tell me why when converting a *.dwg file to *.mi in me10 environment, do I get an exaggerated file size? while eliminating some elements of the design making it almost empty the dimensions do not change.

I better explain, I receive from customers some dwg (6 mb) files, I think derived from several versions of autocad. in environment me10 amount the dwg file and when save it both in dwg and in format (mi) reaches a size of 22mb. I don't know me10 very well, because I work mostly with autocad... so I would like to ask you, if this report is correct and/or how do I resize the file both save it in me and in dwg. so when I reload it in I take a little so I think it's not right my procedure. There is something I have to do side autocad or me10, in phase of import/salvation. ?
