I have the following problem:
In my style library I have, to make it short, sheet sp.x material (ferro) and the corresponding stainless steel sheet sp.x material ( stainless steel) , when I create a piece of sheet metal and I have to change between the two types the material does not automatically update, can someone tell me how to automate this passage?

select "mediate sheet rule" in the "material" drop-down menu of "default sheet values" (where you choose style, to understand). probably you have to do it in the template file to always have this behavior.
