Bye to all,
are struggling with a problem in ansys wb..I want to shape a contact between a solid plastic element and a pressured membrane element.
exists a way in ansys wb to set the membrane option in the mesh, thus avoiding assigning a thickness to the surface that I want to contact?or you have to go through ansys classic?

Thank you so much!

Michael

if I'm not mistaken the "membrane" option is assigned to shell elements to "eliminate" the bending resistance, so it has nothing to do with the thickness you always have to and anyway assign.

Okay, thank you very much. if I put in wb a surface made in design modeler, when I go to assign a thickness, between the offset properties I find middle (membrane)..just this to not have bending resistance?

Thanks again

Michael

no, the offset is simply in which direction are "extruded" (or rather thickened) the elements regarding the starting surface:
top: compared to the upper face
bottom:compared to the lower face
middle: half and half

to set the diaphragm insert you must add a snippet apdl command in the geometry that interests you (click with the dx mouse button on the surface body and select "insert command").
on the command write
keyopt,matid,1,1
