Hello!
I am a student enrolled in the second year of the specialized degree in mechanical engineering.
for mechanical design examination with finished elements
I have to make a project with ansys software (the version I use is 13), and in particular I am carrying out the project of a naval propeller.
the starting geometry I made it in solidworks (version 2012).
when I import geometry into ansys (.iges file)
I am recognized areas, keypoints and lines but not volumes.
My questions are:
- how to make volumes recognize?
- if volume recognition is not possible,
how you can create an area with 8 concatenate curved lines
lying on the surface of the hub?

thanks for the help

Do you want to use classic ansys or workbench?
try to use step instead of iges.

I am using the multiphysics.. .
I solved the problem of volume recognition by changing the settings
in saving the cad file in .igs format setting as ansys preference.
thanks anyway for the suggestion :finger:
