hello to all

I am trying to define a correct methodological approach to the management of particularly complex axioms.
it is not easy to explain the question: I created a simplified project, it is not a real object but I think it is very close to so many real situations.
The project is this:2.webpis composed of a tray where a pin rests, the pin is hollow.
there is immediately the problem that we have to eliminate the part of the tank that intersects the pin. in this case the part to be eliminated has a perfectly cylindrical shape but I think about + complex cases where this does not necessarily occur.
After drawing the box and the pin (but without creating the cavity) I create a side file from where I derive the two objects and exploiting the combined command (with output size) I can cut the surplus. except this .ipt with box #2 name.
the pin could not be immediately hollow since if it had been I would have obtained as result this1.webpAt this point I have to create the cavity in the pin but I can't do it directly in the file and I see myself forced to create another file (called pin #2) where the file comes and I empty it.
to the file I create the axieme using the two files box #2 and pin #2.
But isn't there a way to do everything directly inside the axieme? I noticed that the combined command is not present in the environment together.
Thank you for your ideas, opinions, suggestions

Hi.
you wouldn't need to do all those steps: multisolid part design - combine - make components should be enough. then if the parts are already done, from the same you could do edit part - copy object and then combine. . .
from a barge to video I did.

hello to all
thanks for the very useful answer.
I did everything again, so if I didn't get it wrong, I defined pin and box as two separate bodies inside the same .ipt and then with management -> creates components I generated 1 file of assembly and two rows of parts.3.webpeverything ok: the pin was hollow and the box with the cut surpluses.
Moreover everything is perfectly modular: If I change, for example, the length of the pin is reflected in the axieme.5.webpbut if I add a piece like the parallelepiped they are forced to regenerate everything? I couldn't integrate it into the assembly file automatically.
a greeting

Okay, if after creating the axieme-1, add another solid and you want to integrate it, the key is to answer the question "you want to create a new set..." and point to the axieme-1:

hello to all
thanks cast16 for the answer.
in the test design I got a cable pin, in the generated file I changed the constraints to create a zipper to close/open6.webpif I change in the .ipt file the door size these variations are correctly inherited in the joint file (the constraints that create the hinge remain)

Good evening to all
In management > creates components I can only select solids, I would have the need to 'transfer' also work geometry, in particular two axes that serve to define the constraints of pins.
I have to choose another way to do it.

hello to all
I would have found a solution for my problem (it seems to work well).
as in create components I can decide to select only the solids that I want to insert in the axieme, then I tried (after the axieme was generated the first time) to change it manually including also the working geometries that I was interested in.
then working on it, then making changes and regenerating everything with creates components, the geometries I had included remained without problems.
a greeting
