I don't know why that happens.
looking at the sketches I saw the angle share to define the opening in half axis; it does not serve and also uses an equation that is superfluous.
to make the opening half axis you can use these two possibilities:
-make symmetries radial lines (being all construction lines transforms them into normal lines, symmetric yields to the axis line and then retransforms them into construction lines
-design a 0.1 long construction line perpendicular to the construction axis and bound to its average point bind the ends of the arc to this line.

in addition to eliminating the equation (to see if it is less heavy do the calculation of the performance with and without) is easier to build, I always use the line with the middle point and in a sketch I have: an arc, two lines, the quota of the arc and that of the opening 5 elements in all
