I don't know which of the 2 changes I made but now the installation of the release has been successful.
1- I upgraded windows with the latest updates this month
2- I moved all the installation folder in "c:" (with 2 hard disks I used to install quietly from 2 hard disck i.e. from "d:")

try to do this:
if you have a 32bit installation, check that these environment variables are set:
java_home=... installation directory of java... (eg. c:\java\jre7)
jre_home=... installation directory java...
and in the last part of the variable path go to add this:
path=... ... ;c:\java\jre7\bin

if it has a 64-bit install instead:
java_home=. .jre64_home=... installation directory java...
and in the last part of the variable path go to add this:
path=... ... ;c:\java\jre7\bin

starting the nx relations browser fails in nx9.0.2.5 if no 'java_author' license is available.

the reason is a missing signing for the java jar files

"nx 9.0\nxassembly\nxbrowser\plugins\nxopenplugin_1.0.0.jar"

on tc the speech is very different.
in nx there are only some plugins made in java (help, pts author, feature browser)... 2 we deleted them.
oracle continuously changes security policies and continuously breaks the plugins... see for example the search of the help that we have to patch every jre coming out.
