Hello, I am new in the community so forgive me in case of posting errors or other.
I'm trying to rebuild a wing tip starting from drawing in the plant. I have reconstructed all the surface, I have made the union of the various parts but once I try to close the profile I am mistaken: Closing operator:you cannot close an opening in the selected body with a flat face. change the part. for the covid block I have no opportunity to have external aid if someone could give me a hand in completing the model I would be very grateful. I attach the work done so far on caia and the model I must reproduce (it must not be very faithful since the profile used is different)

Hi.

the closure fails as you have a superimposed surface to hide: filling.8

Moreover, the surfaces you have obtained have excessive swellings, e.g. the filling.14, in this case to decrease it I inserted a deviation of 0.01 from the curves.

I think you should still work a little on the profiles to improve the sweep.5 still too swell.

Let me know.

Mirko,
If I can give an unsolicited advice and see the model opened for years, at least for what is my experience on this type of surface, the use of the fill (the filling surface) should be restricted to very limited areas, precisely because you have little control over the inner areas of the surface.
you only have control over the edges (contact, tangency, curvature ) and , at the limit, then introduce a point.
It can be very good for particular things, how to create a flat surface starting from a profile on a floor.
or when you don't know how to close a "pezzettino" and the fill can be useful to see how the result might come.
but, for example, how can you control the curvature along the entire surface (which on a wing seems at least important to me)?
many times, as in this case, you find yourself with unintended "boils".
Normally, for this type of work, at least I try to use multisection or sweep (or swept .... I don't remember the precise name ...).

I thank you for your direct intervention on the file and expatriate reader for the advice on using sweeps. they are a neophyte in the use of caia so the creation of curved surfaces is not really simple therefore with the fine sweeps to wrap me up. In theory I would like slightly more "bombed" surfaces (I attach two images with two slightly different shapes) but then I have to evaluate the structural impact on a whole rotor blade the fact that the tip does not reproduce 100% geometry would impact very little. I also have only one model, set on other profiles, to follow but not a faithful reproduction. I am trying to work on the basis of the model sent to me by gianni, however when I go to meshare the piece (use hypermesh) I find some areas that go to overlap in the area that I always send you in attachment (possible boundary self-intersection found). Thank you for your help.

Hi, Mirko.
with the other images you sent you understand better what you have to get and there is still much to review. the current surfaces are “flats” while according to the images must have “bombs” that are obtained as rightly says expatriate reader, through sweeps or multisections, but I think you have to add some other curves i.e. you have to build a wireframe with more curved guide to generate controlled surfaces, otherwise they only come random “boils”...then I look at it better and tell you.
