estensioni file per solidworks

good morning to all, sometimes I happen to send files of projects made by other people, with different programs, to be able to see them in 3d and maybe even to be able to modify what kind of extension must evere the file, dwg igs...... other?

the formats that solidworks opens are those attached in the image.

Usually for the 3d you import step, iges, parasolid with their extensions, sat, stl. the rest may need additions to open files.

the modification on the surfaces is more complex and less well aware. I normally work with solids and unfortunately I do not have much practice with them. However everything is changeable, with certain limitations.

step files usually allow conversion into solids unlike iges that are supercifi. even with solids it is possible to use almost all commands, but since they are not parametric solids it is necessary to use some stratagem as it moves it face rather than the extruded size or solid extrusion a little senseless to fill holes and give it back.

if the program that generated the interchange models worked well, just do some reconstruction with swx (which usually automatically part) of the faces and contact games, trying to bring everything to correct geometry. But as always... We'll have no confidence that everything is right, since it's not native.
