a greeting to all, I have a problem with extrusion on path with revit 2009, I have to create a cordon over a partition wall, I wanted to ask you how to do, what kind of family do I have to create, what is the right process to do it? and then once I put the material?

what do you mean by above?if it is on the surface of the wall you can create an extrusion.
select the wall >property of the type >modifies structure, activates the preview and impose the view of section.
at this point the commands to create an extrusion are active.
click extrusion, in the panel that opens click Add.
the first thing to do is to choose a profile you must have previously prepared and loaded into the project.
You have to create a new family.
menu application(revit r at the top right)> newfamily> metric profile. here draw the profile you need and load it in the project.
through the other parameters in the extrusion panel can place it correctly.

if by above you mean head to the wall you can:
1-I would create a local model of wall with the profile you need.(including wire).
component > local model > road extrusion.
2-draw only the cord.the procedure is the same but first you have to create reference plans that allow you to create and place the cord properly.

solved thank you so much!!!, but I did not understand how to do the extrusion on path, I create my family ( metric profile)>vado in view>load mass>gli do the path with reference line and then when I close nothing comes out, how come what is wrong? ? ?

the profile you need to draw on the correct plane.
try drawing a reference line.if the selections from the 3d view you will see that 6 floors are displayed that intersect it.when drawing the profile you need to draw it on the correct plane, one of the two head.
Once the plan is set and designed the profile selects the latter and the reference line at the same time and creates shape.the profile will be extruded along the reference line.
But for certain things I would not use a mass, but an object of the correct category according to what you are doing. Among other things, the modeling commands of solids and voids in this case are more intuitive.
