good morning to all users. I am a solidedge user, but for this do not deprecate me.
I have a problem with my client who has pro/e (I don't know which version), who sends me some step files of a large assembly.
When importing into solidedge 20, unfortunately, all these files are imported as a single file from about 100mbytes, so very heavy to manage. if I try to edit this file, it is composed of about 15000 unrelated single surfaces.
in solidedge there are no options in this sense, if not the choice of the template to be used during the opening of the file, which of course I choose asm, or assembly.

I asked the client who did some evidence but the result doesn't change
I wonder if someone knows what options to activate to export a assembly as a set of unique parts and not as a single block

Thank you.

Leonardo

I never had these problems.
I attach an image of the settings I usually use.
If you want, I'll get you a file to see if you care about it together.

Thank you, if you attach the file, I'll test it. Would you tell me what version you have of pro/e?

thanks and good day

There is an option in the config.pro to set.
step_export_ap214_asm_def_mode
with the value single_file export to single file
with the value separate_parts_only export separate parts

with the value separate_all_objects I don't remember what he's like.

Let him do two tests with the last two voices... and let us know what the results are

My is set in single_file and exports to me without problems.
It is one of its strengths.

the problem is that:
  • there are programs that import the steps files together as a unique file
  • there are other programs that want separate parts (so in export you will have as many file steps as the parts that make up the axieme).

in solidedge there are no options in this sense, if not the choice of the template to be used during the opening of the file, which of course I choose asm, or assembly.
the standard templates of whether they are all their place? normal.par, normal.asm, etc?

thanks, with your file amount all as unique parts. Let's see what the client says now.

good work, good christmas and good new year
