As you understand from the title of discussion, I would need to export from solidworks of files that are editable by other software cad, type autocad, maya, and related, as I would like to somehow monetize this my hobby for the 3d through a marketplace.
I tried to export to .iges from sw and then import into autocad, but after the conversion of the file, I do not get any kind of result. Does anyone help me? Thank you!

What does that mean?
I don't get any results.
I hope you understand that for those who don't work alongside you this means nothing.
first of all what would you want to get? then what do you expect to get from importing an iges in autocad? Why do you have to import a three-dimensional file made with a specific 3d parametric software?
personal observation: export from a specific three-dimensional program to another not specifically three-dimensional (by force of what through neutral formats) with the need to change them seems to me a barbaric thing.

the point is that I would need to export the file so that the file is editable on other modeling software. being uncomplicated I tried on intenet and came to the conclusion of having to export to .iges or in .step.
I tried on autocad, just to make a test, but when autocad converts the .iges file essentially I don't care about the model.
Should I try on maya?

Starting that I do not understand the need to export a three-dimensional file to change it with another software (in autocad then) I in autocad do not see the possibility to import iges. (if you can tell me the method I can't find it)
step, acis, parasolid yes, but not iges
certainly a little depends also on what you carry out and with what options
however the best result in my opinion you get it with the acis file (satellite extension)

Then I'll make it clear to you: there are sites where to sell their 3d models, but the problem is that I can't load on this site native solidworks files, but I need to load files with different extension. these are the formats loaded by a user for their work: .3ds (multi format), .blend (blender), .fbx (multi format), .max (3ds max), .obj (multi format), .unitypackage (unity3d)
I need to do the same, now my question is this: is it possible to do it directly with solidworks without recreating the model in other software?

then you do not have to change them, but convert the format.
those formats are not exportable from solid.
If you explain how it is the procedure to import iges in autocad I do some tests otherwise, as I have already written, use the acis format

I take the .iges file from solidworks and then try to import it in autocad, I do not take it directly from autocad.
How do I convert the format?

I carry the .iges file from solidworks and then try to import it in autocad
in fact I ask you what is the procedure to import iges in autocad, because in the online guide is indicated, but in the import extensions is not present (see image)
said this, I repeat it for the third time, if from solidworks you carry in acis you should have no problem.

I simply carry out from solidworks in .iges and then from autocad I make fileimporta>seleziono .iges as extension>click on the file that interests me>attending the conversion of the notified file to the bottom right>click on the file name.
once exported to acis, what changes? Can it be opened in other software or is it a starting point for me to convert the file to other formats?

the procedure is the same, but I have no extension. I forgot the picture first.
with acis, and make a proof that costs nothing, I have no problem importing a 3d model, with other formats (eg step) yes.
once exported to acis, what changes? can be opened in other software
In the junkyard.
or is it a starting point for me to convert the file to other formats?
the export depends on the program, not the format that amounts in these.
If autocad does not export to .3ds you can import that files and formats you want, but you can never let a 3ds file go out. once imported in autocad the file loses its origins and becomes an entity of autocad, whether it is a block, solids, mesh or anything. export formats are those available to autocad, if there is one that you need you are fine, otherwise with autocad you do little

but then how did the guy I put the example before exporting to all those different formats?

3ds with autocad 2004
fbx with autocad 2011
obj with rhino
or other software
or via some online site; There are around (just do a search conversion online 3ds) but I do not know the reliability

I searched a bit on the internet and practically speak of scanto3d thanks to which to export type in .3ds or in .obj, but what is it?

I remembered this freecad program that imports and exports to various formats
from the site:freecad is multi-platform (windows, mac and linux) and reads and writes different open formats of files such as step, iges, stl, svg, dxf, obj, ifc, dae and many others.

I basically "resolved" using various programs including maya, blender, autocad, meshlab and freecad. Thanks for the help!
