Hello.

I am facing this problem:

I would like to export a 3d sketch (created plane by plane, taking curved relationships) made in academic se18 as .iges .step or .stl file and then import it into academic Moldovaflow2010 and use it as a line to assign cooling circuit properties.
and possible to do it? until now it denies me the saving in .step and .iges because it does not detect solid parts; in .stl saves it but, when then the amount in mf, sees it as empty file. someone who can help me?

waiting for answers I thank you.

If you go to the options you have in the save window, find the options to save the surfaces as well.

with sketches I never tried, let us know eventually.

p.s. since you're in the first message, add your short presentation so we know who we're dealing with and we can better calibrate the answers.

I am a student of mechanical ing with the work of thesis lt;
I have to do a cooling simulation in Moldovaflow with a particular cooling circuit that has many curved lines, and as in mf it is designed for coordinates it is becoming an indispensable thing: then I thought I'd go through the good old man if to create the lines I need to define the circuit and then maybe use them to make some sort of sliding protusion and create the model for a cross-check in cfx.
if I started using it in 3rd grade and then abandon it for a few years and remove it for some university exam and now for the thesis;
While for a few months I've jumped into the world of simulations by banging my head against ansys cfx and Moldovaflow with gambits waiting for me.

I forgot.. thanks for the advice!

but can't import a solid that could be your control volume?
In this way it would be feasible.
other alternative: create your lines as an intersection of surfaces and then expose the surfaces that will identify the curve.
I don't know how cfx works but I know ansys and I can tell you that it matters several formats.
You should do proof, only you're with the 18th, I've got the 20th and st2, maybe they're not that simple.

consideration: certain that you are now lucky, I with the good old starcd built the geometry for points and with command line!!! It was other years!
;)

Yes, in cfx without particular problems you can import almost anything..poi maybe you have to fix some edges that make stories when they have to be meshati..the big of the problem is in drawing the lines in Moldovaflow(simulate injection molding).
for now I have drawn them for points, but now I have to overwhelm things and draw in a program that is not born precisely to draw (which usually expects straight lines and that, in addition to asking points and connecting them, does nothing else) is very complicated. Besides this the program goes into crisis when it goes to create the channel true and precisely from the lines I have defined (it does it automatically, apart from the shape of the piece to create, does not want other solids) because between a line and the atra sometimes sees some discontinuities that are not there! That's why I wanted to crash this by importing lines from a neutral cad.

you should first convert them to curves, I miss the command name but it is in the surface/curve bar.

Hi.

Thanks for the advice. last night I looked at us a bit..but in that menu many options can not select them, later I check better.

may be a license-enablement level problem, maybe some functions are disabled in the academic version.

if you go to the window "information on solid edge" what do you see?

great :) I would say that I am riding...better than that could not be:frown:
thank you for the advice, in case I get rid of the situation I will not fail to communicate it. I'm still waiting for other ideas.

This is exactly what I see. .

I used the command creates drift curve, and I selected the various curves with "chain". Let's see what happens now!

in fact there are limitations on university license. . if you look at the image the 2d cubed- limited and also the 3d cubed - limited
