Good morning to all boys....help me
I need to work a cast in cast iron with work in the environment together and until it gets bored of holes no problem. The problem arises in threading a cylindrical external part as I do? Why is the thread command not as in the environment part?? ? :frown:

I thought of making a line projected on the surface with a sketch3d and with the sweep going removing material to create the true fieltting, but no sketch 3d....I don't know how to do if you can give me a straight...thank you

the only one could be derived the assembling in one part and create the work there....

thanks ilario I will try, of course it is a sin of a joke not to be able to make an external thread but in a hole you... I find it absurd I would say..va well thank you...ah I forgot use inv 2010

I agree with you, but it is so always unfortunately, not if with 2011 they have implemented it is what, I still have to install it, but I doubt.. .

Can I ask why of this need?
Why can't you do the thread in ipt?

then to tell the truth if you use to make the cylinder the shaft generator gives you the possibility to create a threaded cylinder without first making the part in ipt

What if you're a derivative?
I mean...
your melting part is called, e.g., 1.ipt
do a 2.ipt derivative part in which you derive 1.ipt and on which you put all the threads you want

I found myself in the same situation: I have to perform a thread on a tree that is an electro-welded compound, and the thread is to be performed on the assembly (also because on the threaded lathe goes the complete welded and not the round before the welding) and I found that it is not possible (inventor 2013). Now I'll see if I can arrange with some escamotage, but I think it's a very serious lack. .

all these problems certainly result from the fact that you have to put on the table the only piece where the thread will go without the thread.
I would do like this:
or put a simple note on the board of the part where you say something like: do this thread only after assembly with other components"
or as mbt says, put the part on the table without the thread, while in assembled mountains the part derived from the first and threaded.
I don't know if other cads do the threads together, but it doesn't seem like a serious lack, it's resolved by some passage.

do a multi-body part? Make the tree like an ipt with more solids, work it and then put it on the table by activating or deactivating the solids and the ke nn processing you care. Sorry I wrote from the phone. Hi.
