extract drawing information

hi to all, I have a question: in autocad there is the option to extract the drawing data by creating a dxe file and a xls that contain all the information on the design (line type, location, color, etc...). But there is the possibility to reload these files on an empty design so as to regenerate the design?
for now the only way I have seen that it regenerates a file is with scripts, but with that it does not seem to me you can regenerate also the characteristics (color, type line, etc...) or am I wrong?

perhaps the term regenerate is not the most correct, I mean as when you upload a script file, which from a blank design you create lines automatically.
