Hello.
I am a beginner, I imported a decor cad of a kitchen and created the relative family, I wanted to ask how it was possible to apply a retino to the family so that once imported into the project I can see in shady mode the sampling itself, I tried to insert a masking detail but it is invisible imported into the project or even overlaps preventing me the view of the sink/fridge etc...?? ? Sorry I know it's trivial but I can find a solution! !

It's not the right approach, you're thinking like revit was autocad.
a kitchen must be assembled making the various components in many families, possibly even using the nested ones, so that you can manage various aspects ranging from materials and/or graphic representation to counts.

importing it as the only family derived from autocad does not leave you (as you are experimenting) no possibility of control and in the end you find yourself in the project an object that creates you more problems than anything else. .

You have to act on the material. Are you familiar with revit materials?

edit: ..and yet I fully agree with spears

You guys are perfectly right, but I'm experimenting, however, that much of the study work is over and I need to change the project further, so I created the family of the whole kitchen, now I need to put a solid net (as if it were autocad) below these new families, because I did the same thing for bed cabinets etc... I want you to! Tristan not much, I wanted to put sampling but nn c is in the editing of the family... .
thank you very much for the answers anyway !!! on this weekend I will try to make a nested family, but within this pm I have to print something and solve the problem from this point of view:(

Hello Tristan!! !
I did nest but my problem remains!!!! How do I create a background of a color?? ? ?
I know it's a banality! ! !

is a very normal cad file of a block, now as my boss is demanding, they didn't suit any other kitchen sofa etc... but it wanted those of the cad so I imported the exploded cad and revit automatically recognized me those lines as metric furniture lines.... the first idea was to put a masking but this overlaps preventing me to see the lines of the fold of the bed or the sofa to understand us.... if you want I can post the dwg of the block.... and cmq thank you very much for the availability! ! !

for the record I tried to copy the "solid" of another family like the default bath that owns such a retino but this overlaps me preventing the view of the lines ("door behind" I miss you!)....

use the family "metric detail" which you will then nest in the family of "metric furniture". so you should solve:
