family table of a whole project

Hello, everyone.
I have the problem now.
I have to draw 9 molds, for now and I only did one and would like to find the fastest method to make others.
In fact the first is not 100% complete, but for now I have to realize the drawings of maximum to have quotations from the suppliers.
The simplest method I see is to create a family table that allows me to add the various components that are different from the generic model so as to immediately get the maximum drawings and, to finished design, all the various instances.
for now the project (still without family table) is thus constituted:
- there is the part in which the piece is modeled (which I call a reference model), which includes 3 curves essential for the manufacturer because they are made of lathe. in this part there are many of the parameters that characterize the product.
- there is the part relative to a semi-stampo, which takes the above curves (public geometry) and is calculated with some other parameter.
- there is the other semi-stampo, dependent on the previous one (public geometry) with some other modification and some other parameter.

from these 3 parts are generated 3 respective designs, and then I will add other components with other designs.

the problem is: if I make the family table of the reference model, how do I pass to the other parts the characteristic parameters?

rectifying: the problem is: I have a week to release the maximum drawings, another three weeks to release the final drawings of the first mold and two months to release everything! :36_1_25:

with relationships! the main reference part will have a series of characteristic parameters, all others will have their parameters/quotes that will point to the references of the main part. the main part with its parameters will have its instances each of which will possess the specific values of the parameters. when replacing/creating new instances of the main part will automatically update the parameters/quotes connected.

spent on being sufficiently clear

I know how to do it.
I've done a lot today and I've already met two problems. one is that the design continues to point to the general and cares about the various instances. How do I create all designs with all instances?
The other problem is that I don't know how to pass the parameters to the other parts. the geometries pass them with the "public geometry", but the parameters?

Look, as I can't pass the project (I don't want to get involved), I send you a test project that I just did, which is exactly like the original one.

How do I pass the "spessore_stampo" parameter?
and then, how do I generate various instances on drawings, connected parts, etc...?

Thank you.

Hello, wolf.

to make the table of the variants do so: go into the family table line of the model and open, when you have the video variant, file > new design > and create a table that points directly to the variant.
for the parameters that change you can also insert those in the family table of the original model, so that each variant will have its own.

regarding the drawings I found more convenient to open the generic design, change the reference model with a variant so the design is already made. but how do I pass the parameters from one side to another?

What parameters do you refer to?
I have seen that you have already parameterized geometry with external dia_ variables, section, radius_est etc., percui are automatically updated depending on the variant you choose.

automatically update depending on the variant you choose.
Yes, but only in the part.
in fact there is a parameter in the family table, "spessore_stampo", which should serve to generate the part of the mold, but these are not connected now. How do I do that?

I don't know what you need those parameters inserted in the family table, but the work is incomplete, or in the family table you directly insert the quotas of the feature revolve and the right values, or through the reports to the quotas the values of the parameters.
I suggest you the first case, if you don't need parameters elsewhere.
I'll give you an example.

You're right, I didn't explain all the details.
In practice I want the parameter "spessore_stampo" in the family table to be imported in the "semistampo_top.prt" part, because some models need a mold often 30, others 25, etc.
practically in "semistampo_top.prt" the 30 in the scketch I would like it to be in function of the model, or better than any variant of the model.
In this way, after completing the table, I would like to be able to generate all semisamps related to all variants.

If that's impossible to say! ebbhè che non want to work, ma il tempo string... since now I have in hand all the rules to make 'sti stamps I wanted to parameterize all the development ... so much the minch.ate I do the same without the pro-e :36_1_25:

Thank you very much for your interest! ! !

what you want to do is very feasible with pro-e, it is normal to make projects where one part varies to vary of another is everyday thing.
However, I recommend working at assembly level where to create sketches, controlled by the family table, and insert the individual details that refer to the same profile

... but I recommend working at assembly level where to create sketches, controlled by the family table, and insert the individual details that refer to the same profile
So I create profiles in a set, I create my family table, and then how do I create the various components with those profiles?

after the details are inserted in the set, you can activate each part and work on it while remaining in total and having all sketches, surfaces, axes etc. of other objects.
very important is that in binding the prts in the asm uses the planes, as the surfaces are subject to changes in shape or size

then, the concepts of modeling, assembly and putting into the table are clear, are not so deficient. the problem is the family table.
with the family table you can fly the parameters of the part (or the assieme) in which you created it, but not the parts (or assemblies) children, which remain connected, as it is obvious that it is, but driven by its parameters that remain however independent from the family table that is father.

I make a stupid example: I have a 60mm high egg and I create a box of eggs that contains 6.
then I create a family table of eggs 60mm, 70mm, 80mm and 90mm respectively. the relative boxes will obviously be proportional, but they will always be from 6. Well: I want for 60mm and 70mm eggs the boxes to be 6, while for 80mm and 90mm eggs the boxes must be 4. this naturalmete happens because the parameter "6 eggs" is characteristic of the axieme (box) but not of the eggs (part) on which I built my family table.
the family table therefore should be:
variant_1 - egg 60mm - box from 6
variant_2 - egg 70mm - box from 6
variant_3 - egg 80mm - box of 4
variant_4 - egg 90mm - box of 4
Where do I get parameters 6 and 4?

p.s.: this will be remembered in the annals as "the paradox of the boxes of eggs"! :hahahah:

I finally begin to understand what you want to get.
to do this there are at least two roads, the first, easiest, is to adjust the number of pieces through a series with the number of items managed by the family table. otherwise in programme environment.

As the egg parameter rules the box, you simply have to let him read the parameter on the side, pointing the component id.

create a joint relationship written in this way:

quantity

to understand that number of id has your component, always according to the context menu click on the curtain menu show/id session and select the component of the axieme (in this case your egg) you want, proe will return the id of the component you write in the report.

greetings

That's a nice discussion. ....I hope to understand something...also because I would like to deepen the use of family tables and pro-programs. but it takes real examples, however also that of the eggs can go well:smile::smile:

fantastic!!! That was what I needed! :finger:
here are the 4 types of boxes, made in half an hour. and now add more is a children's game, 30 - 40 sec stuff for each variant! ! !

Thank you so much ozzy, you're always the best!

Very well.
Well you have to say thanks above all to this tool that bends to our wills.
Just understand it then do what you want. :-)

Therefore, the project goes on, only that I am not using your method, ozzy, because I am managing the whole family table in the environment together, and then propago the parameters to all parties involved through public geometries.
However now the family table is becoming very large and difficult to manage, is there no way to change locally a variant of the family table without any changes involving all members of the family table?
In particular, I can't clean the threaded holes. I have to put all the parameters of the hole in the family table (wall diameter, thread depth, drill depth, etc.)?
