file as reference

Hello, guys.
I have tried to search the forum but I have found nothing.
It could be that I looked bad... but I ask you the courtesy of helping me out.
I have an axieme, but I have assembled a component that doesn't have to be part of the axieme itself.
In practice, I only need it as a reference to mount the other pieces.
so I wouldn't want to find it in the table in the separate table materials even if I want to view it.
is it possible to insert a file only as a reference? .
