if one has a powerful enough machine will fade inside, it will matter in autocad
rear wheels fanali per matriali etc., you export to max the body shop in dxf and then import it in autocad as block , you copy the rear wheels in front and then do a cure to recover....

I made a Persian in 3ds with the colors and the shape that serves me; then I read here that I can import it in revit through passage from dwg and use it directly in the revit project. but you talk about importing the 3ds file in autocad and only after saving it in dwg: I couldn't find a way to import my file in autocad!! It only makes me import a type of unknown .dgn file that obviously I don't have and I don't know how to get it. . .
then I saved it in dwg directly from 3ds but, as already happened to you, saves it without a piece and then in revit appears with all the slats but without the front face and back.. .
So I ask you if you could kindly explain to me, like a poor fool, how do you do all those steps and in case how to alternatively solve the problem of missing pieces! !
I on my pc have revit and 3ds 2011 and autocad 2012...but if you need other programs + old I can get them. . .

I tried with fbx, sat and dwg... a disaster. Can I ask you something? for such an element, so simple and linear, why not models it directly in revit?

from max you have to save it in dwg or 3ds format
in autocad if you save it in dwg systems as layer since revit to dwg you can give different materials if you have different layers
if you save it as 3ds amounts it in autocad as 3ds, in matter there should be also item 3ds (at least in 2007 there is) diversifying layers for material
