files saved on network and local

Bye. I have a problem.
normally work with files saved on the network. But when I go to the yard or the client I make a backup locally.
when I return solidworks, it opens me components from the local and the components from the server.
can you tell sw to open only those of the network?? ... without all the time having to delete files locally?? ... or zippers? ?

Thank you.
Hi.

hi... how do you backup? do a pack&go of all local components? If yes, you should not have pb opening the job locally.

If you don't make any changes from the customer or construction site, I'd just take a pack&go and leave everything local.

This is a situation that often happens to me and I solved everything very simple for the user. the files I access on the network are placed in a root folder that I connect to the pc as a network disk. then the path will be z:\\\\principle\sottocartelle\files.
when I want to have updated files on the laptop, I perfectly sync disks, using the robocopy command of windows with various options. to sync about 1tb of data I use about ten minutes, I just have to run a file. In this way, I find the same structure that I have on the server. When I go out with the laptop, instead of using the files on the network, I create a virtual disk on the local folder that corresponds to the server path. then I will again find myself "z:\\\principle\sottocartelle\files".
Although z now is a virtual disk and not a network disk, solidworks opens it "stupily" from z\\.... and cares about what is z.
to simplify operations, I created batches that do the following sequence operations, with one click:

1- I collect all network and virtual disks
2- I connect the correct disks for the session I have to start
3- load reg file for connection to the correct pdm database
4-load reg file for loading the correct version si solidworks
5- I open the correct version of solidworks

I have various batch files, one for each customer who has different sw or pdm version needs and depending on where I am (office, home or off-site).

I placed these batches inside a folder that then loaded as toolbar in the windows bar, so I just have to go into the bar next to the clock and throw a batch for synchronization and when I'm out home go into the same bar to launch the command for local work, etc...
a hyperglued system that I use for years also to avoid using the wrong version of sw and accidentally convert files to newer versions.

thanks re_solidworks.. .
It's really high school. I have to ask my it if we can do the same thing.

so when you reconnect the pc to the network, with the batch the pc no longer sees the files you have in the local? ? . . .

absolutely not. he searches them in the disk with a certain letter and finds them. only that letter is on the other side. It's easier to do than say.
