filters and porous means

Hello everyone, I'm an aerospace engineer and work around pisa.
I’m currently working on a model of a machine (a small help for the sizing of some components) and had some problems with the study of synthetic filters.
Could someone give me a definition of hydraulic radius and above all explain why it leads to this magnitude?

Hi.

I have nothing to do with the specific design of components similar to yours: In general, in fluid dynamics, the hydraulic (or diameter) radius (or equivalent) is that "fittitium" diameter that allows you to assimilate a sectional conduit any to a circular one, and which should be inserted instead of the diameter of the latter in the usual relationships relative to the load losses for circular tubes.
