Hi, I modeled a lcd screen in rhino and I would like to make the table through solidworks, exporting the model in step. on solidworks I can't join the faces of the step model, since without joining them there are the edges in the table. I tried with me but I get nothing, probably because I'm wrong, can you explain the procedure well?

Thank you in advance.

I don't understand what you're asking (my limit surely).
which edges and how do you "show"?
Would you post that step?

greetings

I understand what you mean, you have to control the export settings in rhino.
to me the same thing had happened with a bearing, at the table in the sections
was invisible because it consisted of surfaces and therefore it was not a solid body.
try to export to xt (I don't know if rhino does, it's much that I don't use it).

edit: tried with rhino 1.1, with parasolid is perfect!
you can even choose the version of solidworks.

in rhino you have to verify that it is a closed polysurface. otherwise it is not a solid.
to click on the object in rhino, and click details in the property bar.
if it wasn't a closed polysurface you have to activate the show edge (command _showedges)
and check which edge is not coincidental.
at this point you can reconstruct the edges, if badly done or simply join them if their distance is low but above the tolerance set (command _joinedge).
Once the rhino model is a closed polysurface, you can export it to solidworks as a step or as a parasolid without any problem.
I am a process that I do often and always works.

the money is a solid closed and has no open edges, but it is built in a little clean because I had to put a set of "tops" to recover to some errors. the problem is that despite being a step and despite being a closed solid, when I make the table shows the edges of the various surfaces that make up the object (I don't speak of the exposed edges).
I tried to export to parasolid but swx says that data in xt file may not be valid, and it does not open it.

I have attached the step file: I am a niubbo so have patience:)

thanks for the attention.

I opened it and put it on the table without problems.
Actually, if I reload the step file in rhino tells me it has unclosed edges. but in sw everything works.

..I also opened the step (and automatically corrected the surfaces they needed) and put on the table quietly.
it seems to me that the display is correct:fron.webp.. swx 2009

Wait.
is not that you have activated the option visible tangent edges?
check in the menu displays from the table or directly upstream from the options. or always from the table, right clik on the view and Thai board you.

Hello
marco

boys apologize the delay, you are right, the option of visible tangent edges was activated. But I warned you of my high rate of inexperience:

Thank you all for your patience!

I need a hand with the table: from the imported model swx does not recognize entities as circles or arches and consequently does not make me quota them as such (I use the intelligent quota to quote them, do I good? )
how do I reconvene those entities so that I can quote them correctly?
