floor sliding carpet intraalox

Hi guys, I'm doing a conditioning tape (largo 1 meter long 6 meters) using the modular carpets in pp (type intralox precisely) the carpet is light because the weight above is little.

the question: I have seen in past applications that these tapes were flowing on polyzene guides, but I ask, being already the carpet built with antifriction material, would it not be better (or the same) to slide it on guides aisi 304?

we do many cooling tunnels with that type of carpets, in various widths (up to 1500 and beyond) and up to 25 meters long. We always use polyzene plate guides to "lift" the tape from the continuous stainless steel top, even in the lower back branch (in lower number on the width).
technical specifications allow direct sliding on a continuous plane in steel for lengths/widths contained (your 6 mt should still stand, but the width is already excessive) and according to the type of tape chosen (what do you have in mind?), however the support on wear guides is always strongly recommended and there are tables for their application in quantity regarding the width and obviously type of tape.
for lengths (and widths) relevant the weight of the tape only is considerable, consequently the "wear factor" and duration. Moreover the "griling" of the tape allows the circulation of air completely around the product, logical then keep it slightly raised in all favor of the cooling efficiency. not least the sound impact; sliding entirely on steel sheet those carpets become very noisy.

I suggest you "follow the practice" and put the guides, be quieter:smile:

and also eye to any crazy rollers of support; also these must comply with dimensional and position specifications. . However it is all contemplated in the catalogs to the technical pages. if you have any doubts better ask the service of the supplier.
