I would like to know how to tell swx which template to use when you have to open a model in neutral format, parasolid type or step. It seems to me that he always chooses the default one, instead it would be convenient to import into certain templates that I would go to choose from time to time (templates where I have already defined some properties, for example the material, so I already have the right density in departure, without having to put it back to hand).

That's why you can't. choose the axieme, convert everything to you, save by name and choose part as extension below. magically you will have a part with inside the multibody instead of a set with inside the parts.

I was about to ask you the same question, or better I wanted to ask how to insert a new custom part (my template) instead of the default I don't like. with the check on "please ask the user the model" when I insert a new part asks me the model to use, if my or the default!

to create a new template, which is an empty part, prepared with tube cylinder cube or strange commercial profile, that is a set or what you want to follow this:

# It gets new and you choose the empty model (even the one that doesn't paice you)
# Customize it
# from the file menu....save. ..choose part template (extension .prtdot)
# A folder is proposed where the default templates are

You can organize them in folders. the display when you do new must be set to advanced and not beginner (or what comes out) otherwise you do not choose anything.

Yes, it is what or done! I have 4 ready templates that I always use and are part, together and table a4 horizontal and vertical. clearly these 4 files I customized them to my liking adjusting all parameters in my own way....

I only use those for the moment!

I apologize if I reassemble this old discussion, but I cannot transform the attached parasolid into multibody (made from a solid edge assembly).

This morning swx and dbworks must have agreed to try them all rather than make me work.

p.s. I solved, I had to put in the rescue options part "all components"

When you open your xt, you create a set with the various parts.

Why not open the native file if with solidworks?
