Good morning to all,
in company we are evaluating the introduction of the vault for file management.

to what they told us once installed the designs will be visible only from pc with inventor license.
now we need to be able to see them also from other pcs and until now we did it with dwg true view.

Apparently this solution would no longer be possible and we propose a viewer that displays dwf.
However, this would involve the need to export the drawings to that format and I do not know in case of change if they are exported again or the dwfs are updated.

Is it really true?
It seems very strange to me that an autodesk product prevents another from working, I would not like it to be a supplier strategy to sell us its viewer.

dwf/dwfx viewer is free (but it always has problems (but I didn't say anything))

we use vault professional and tables are displayed directly from vault without having to be exported.
I don't know anything more because I didn't personally take care of the implementation.

with vault pro is also installed the thin client that allows users without vault and inventor to view anything present in the vault based on user permissions managed by the vault administrator, all with a web browser and design review and true view installed on client computers, then a single vault license for the technical office that also does by admin, others via thin client without license, of course only in consultation/print, to modify models and table puts serves inventor.

in that basic though there is a check that allows you to automatically save when you store an external dwf at the vault in a folder of your choice shared on the server and so whoever has the viewer can see the files.
