I'm designing a small jet engine and I have to check the resistance of the high speed compressor.
Originally the wheel in alluminio has a 6 mm hole and works perfectly at a regimen 125000 rpm without exploding or dilating excessively.
for project reasons I have to extend this hole up to 17 mm: the concern is that the stress induced by centripetal force exceeds the resistance of the material due to the decrease in section.
I should therefore make a fea, but I don't know where to start or how to set the problem.
If anyone wants to help me, I'd be very grateful.
